About Me

Hi I’m Shaun and I have been involved in English language teaching for over twenty-five years. I am Academic Head of training and development for the International House World Organisation but am also I am a freelance teacher, teacher trainer and materials writer.  In my time, I have written a number of business English coursebooks but am now more known for my love of technology and language teaching, especially in the area of m-learning. I published a free white paper on this a couple of years ago and my new book was published in 2017 by OUP.  Amongst other things I do, I tutor for OUDCE on their language teacher training courses and the digital literacy module of the premasters course. I am a trustee of IATEFL in the role of the chair of elcom, I am also on the committee of IATEFL Learning technologies special interest group. My main hobby these days is podcasting, making the biweekly podcast for teachers called TEFL commute.  Other than that I like playing games both digital and table top.  When doing neither of these things you’ll find me walking in the nearby woods, growing roses in my garden or cooking in the kitchen.
